Job Summary
The Quarry Equipment Utility is to maintain conveyor systems from quarry to plant patio, and move or manage material at quarry or plant. Operate some of quarry equipment to maintain haul road and conveyor system. Operate equipment for haulage of rock. Maintain quarry safety systems such as head walls, roads, and slopes. Manage material being transported, transferred, delivered, and purchased raw materials and other material. Comply with all MSHA and Cemex policies.
Job Responsibilities

Visually inspect crusher and conveyor system from quarry to plant.
Inspect to ensure that any mobile equipment used is properly serviced for fuel, oil, and lubrication. Make written and verbal reports or discrepancies as indicated.
Inspect transfer and conveying systems. Clean and call for repairs as needed.
Operate mobile equipment, fill hopper, trucks, haul material, manage material.
Operate mobile equipment as follows but not limited to: loaders, dozers, haul trucks, light utility vehicles, water trucks, skid steers, scrapers, graters, mowers, etc.
Set up feeders and conveying systems for the distribution of raw material to proper location.
Assist in the dumping and moving raw materials, and fuel at any of the Company’s facilities.
May be required to make minor repairs/adjustments and to do lubrication to conveying systems and auxiliary equipment.
May be required to assist in major repair of quarry facilities.
Take and prepare samples during the course of production in an effort to assist the Quality Control process.
Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds. Safety equipment means clothing and apparatus including, but not limited to hardhat, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, back support belts, gloves and respirators.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work scheduled hours, which could include 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Able to understand, interpret and execute with exactness, instructions given in both verbal and written form
Able to recognize potentially hazardous situations, understand instructions given by supervisor, possess common sense
Knowledge of cement and clinker quality
Ability to use computer

Working Conditions

Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise and working outdoors
Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location
This is a shift position which will require working nights, evenings, weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule
Capability to work extended hours are necessary

Physical Requirements

Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors.
