Assistant to Director and Educational Curator
Lead the Learning Lab—supervising Colossal Kids, setting schedules, guiding students to create, uphold, and update Contracts, growing as an Educational Curator, and modeling the role for adolescents.
Create meaningful community relationships with experts that want to share knowledge with the students
Curate Learning opportunities for learning, safety, and belonging
Plan intentionally for fast, broad, deep, and co-create Measurable Plans with Colossal Kids, their families
Update weekly blogs/newsletter every Thursday and Maintain Parent Feedback Slips
Manage Individual Plans and lead Colossal Kids-Guardians-Educational Curator conferences (2xs a year)
Be present for team meetings, Open Houses, Welcome and Closing Parties, Exhibitions, and other school events, Ghost Kitchens
Assure world-class communication to Colossal kids, staff, and parents, and report serious matters confidentially to Director and other Educational Curators
Organize subs when gone
Continual learning from best practices, institutional findings, and contributions to the Ins
Nurture a flourishing school culture
Co-plan & oversee memorable school events including Contract Signing, Commencement, & Closing Ceremony
Respond to disciplinary infractions that rise to the administrative tier of intervention
Manage the 22/23 rolling admissions process by reviewing formal applications, leading Collaborative Interviews, and inviting families to enroll throughout the school year
Supervise the 23/24 enrollment season by leading events such as 1-on-1 calls with prospective families, virtual Open Houses, and Collaborative Interviews.
Co-steward the school’s finances for current and future years
Audit the school’s monthly profit & loss reports and update the school’s monthly budget with accurate records
Maintain at least an 8% surplus in the school’s budget throughout the school year, in collaboration with the Head of School
Fundraise $20,000 through increasing enrollment in the Step-up program
Draft the school’s 23/24 Pro Forma Budget
Exemplify professionalism in school administration
Arrive on time for all events
Utilize professional judgment in all circumstances
Accept responsibility for unexpected duties that may arise from time to time within the purview of a school administrator
Guide (part time, in person)
Curate a learning lab for experiential learning through an inquiry-based approach. One-onone check-ins.
Create curriculum
Be present for team meetings, Open Houses, Welcome and Closing Parties, Exhibitions, and other school events
Facilitate Socratic Discussion
Create Connections with Community Members
Seek Expert Guest Speakers
Set Weekly Goals with students for their online curriculum.
Attend Monthly Art Walk (one Saturday per month)
No work on Fridays!
