Production Lab Technician (Seasonal)
Overview:
Lab Technician at Martin Fish Co. will operate in a production laboratory that’s primary function is the collection and processing of horseshoe crab blood for the production of limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL.) This position will provide entry level experience in a lab environment.
*This is a seasonal position, operating during the months of June – October 2022 with potential for November*
Required Qualifications

Authorization to work in the United States
High school degree/G.E.D. (case-by-case exceptions may apply)
Compliance with company regulations on the access and handling of confidential information
Compliance with personal protective equipment guidelines
Strong attention to detail
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining work quality
Compliance and understanding of aseptic technique
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work in a dynamic environment
Ability to read, comprehend, and implement standard operating procedures (S.O.P.)

Preferred Qualifications

One, or any combination of the following:
6-12 months of experience in a lab environment
6-12 months of experience in a production environment
1-2 years of general workforce experience
Equivalent combination of paid, volunteer, or educational experience may be accepted

Responsibilities

Perform one of multiple task specific roles in the collection lab
Employees will receive training for all roles. Employees will be assigned and expected to perform one of these roles primarily. Employees may be required to change primary roles with little or no notice.
These roles include: Collection of Samples, Lab Equipment Operation, Marine Life Handling, Cell Processing, Solution Preparation, Sanitation/Sterilization

Collection of samples directly from source via aseptic and S.O.P. guidelines
Operation of centrifuges, inspection, and organization of collected samples via S.O.P. guidelines
Direct handling and safe manipulation of marine life following S.O.P. guidelines
Assist in lab support activities, such as cleaning of laboratory spaces and performing daily individual workspace checks
Perform daily work assignments accurately, timely and in a safe manner

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Internship
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Schedule:

8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
